About The Craft

This is a beautiful Gondana (Tattoo) style of Madhubani painting having a peacock motif in the centre and intricate elephant and doll motifs around. This style of painting is inspired from the art of body tattooing and celebrates the motifs of dolls, butterflies, elephants, birds etc. It originates from the Mithilanchal region of Bihar, India. A sketch is made freehand using a brush. A nib dipped in acrylic colour is used to draw fine lines (textures in a shape).
