Dhokra art also known as Bell Metal craft is one of the oldest crafts known to mankind since 2500 BC and prominently stands out in the relics found at Mohenjo-Daro, Harappa. Dhokra Art takes its name from the Dhokra/ Dokra tribe from Bastar, Chhattisgarh. Traditionally it was used for statues of deities. Without losing its old glory, tribal artisans are creating beautiful decorative products reflecting their way of life, culture and wild creatures in its complete majesty! Lost-wax casting technique is a lengthy process and every piece of art is made from scratch. It goes through multiple stages and it takes a minimum of 30-40 days to finish each piece.
