Naqashi is traditional craft of Kashmir. Beautiful and intricate designs inspired by the local flora and fauna is the speciality of this craft. These days through design interventions, artisans are incorporating new designs and concepts.

Naqashi is an ancient craft of Kashmir that means painting. Beautiful valley of Kashmir is the main inspiration behind these beautiful designs . A wide variety of flora, fauna, birds and butterflies capture the imagination of the artist/ Naqash and find expression in his designs! Beautiful Chinar tree continues to be at the centerstage of traditional designs and is hard to miss! Papier-mâché, wooden and brass/copper objects are enhanced by Naqashi art, these days even steel products are being used as a canvas.
