Craftribute was born from a desire to discover those stories—and to bring them closer to you.
It Started With a Question
Do we really know our own country?
We may have travelled, visited its cities and monuments, tasted its food and celebrated its festivals. And yet, there is another Bharat that reveals itself slowly—through its artisans, its crafts and the traditions that communities have carried forward for generations.
A journey through the southern parts of Bharat made us realise just how much remained to be discovered.
That became Mile 0—the beginning of a personal journey to explore Bharat through its people, its crafts and its stories.
Craftribute grew from that journey.
Why Craftribute Exists
Craftribute began with a desire to discover Bharat—not just by travelling across its landscapes, but by looking at it through the lens of its crafts. Every craft opens a different window into
A community,
A landscape.
A way of life.
A history.
A way of seeing the world.
And the more we discover, the more we realise how little of this vast tapestry we have truly seen.
So, we keep looking.
We keep meeting artisans, discovering traditions, asking questions, and scratching a little deeper beneath the surface.
Because for us, Craftribute is not a destination. It is a continuous journey of seeing, understanding, and discovering Bharat through its crafts—and enriching ourselves along the way.
And perhaps, as we discover these many expressions, we begin to recognise the common thread that runs through them all: the beautiful, living heritage that connects us.
What We Believe
Handmade is Human
We believe that art and craft are among humanity's most beautiful expressions of how far we have come. From learning to survive to learning to create, imagine, and express, we have evolved beyond the merely functional to find beauty, meaning, and joy in what we make. A handcrafted object is therefore not just decoration or utility—it is a celebration of our human ability to create.
The Artisan is at the Heart
We don't believe these traditions should be preserved by freezing them in time. We believe they should be given the opportunity to evolve. Technology can help us take the wisdom, skills, and creativity of generations forward, without replacing them with lifeless replicas. And at the heart of that journey must be the artisan and artist—their skill, talent, and knowledge deserve not just preservation, but dignity, opportunity, and prosperity.
