Tikuli Art – Serving Tray – Mandap

Tikuli Hand painted serving tray from the hinterlands of India, Bihar. Tikuli is a traditional craft from Patna, Bihar and known for its intricate designs inspired from Madhubani paintings and bright colours. This beautiful tray has been decorated with an elaborate scene of Indian wedding ceremony.
Enamel paint is used to make the base material (MDF wood) heat proof and waterproof.

About Tikuli

Tikuli art form draws inspiration from Madhubani art and it commonly depicts everyday chores of household women, auspicious occasions such as wedding ceremonies, and scenes from Brindavan
Women artisans from marginal incomes have found their place in the society through the financial independence and This craft gives economical support to about 600-800 artisans' families on a regular basis in Digha, Danapur, and Gai Ghat mahallas of Patna town of Bihar.
